Family Movie Night – New Feature of Summer Reading Program

Thursday evening is Family Movie Night at Southworth Library this summer. From July 10th through August 14th, the library will be offering free popcorn and a movie at 7:00 on Thursday evenings. Movie viewers may bring their own snacks to the shows, and their own chairs of preferred to our auditorium’s seating. All movies will tie in with this summer’s reading program theme, Wild Reads at Your Library! Each DVD will be added to our library’s collection after its public showing.

Born Free

Thursday July 10th – Born Free (1966)
This movie is based on the best-selling book, Born Free by Joy Adamson. Adamson and her husband lived in Kenya, where he was a game warden. They adopt an orphan lion cub, but must teach her how to live in the wild when she grows up. Won the 1967 Oscar for Best Music Score and Best Song, and nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Actress – Drama. Rated PG for some wild animal action and brief language.
