
Join us at Southworth Library on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. from January 21st through March 11th for the 20th annual Winter Film Series sponsored by the Friends of the Dartmouth Library.

The first three weeks feature Season 1 of the PBS series Craft in America. Additional films:
Feb. 11th: Nancy Moore Bess/Dorothy Gill Barnes, two shorter films profiling two of America’s most creative basket makers.
Feb. 18th: Chihuly in the Hotshop, documentary about renowned glassblower Dale Chihuly.
Feb. 25th: Maria Martinez, Native American Pottery Maker, National Park prize-winning film.
March 4th:The Quiltmakers of Gee’s Bend, depicts the lives and work of a group of African American women quilters from rural Alabama.
March 11th: Maloof, profile of one of the finest woodworkers in America.
A Special Town Meeting will be held on Jan 26th at 7:00 pm in the Dartmouth High School Auditorium. The Town Meeting’s agenda for discussion, called a “Warrant” includes three items.
The first article is submitted by the Alternative Energy Committee and the Select Board and concerns the design and construction of Wind Turbines in Dartmouth.
The second article is submitted by the Planning Board and concerns alteration of zoning by-laws to include a modified village business district.
The third article is submitted by the Executive Administrator and the Select Board and concerns acceptance of Mass. General Law, Chapter 32B, Section 18, concerning “contributory group general or blanket insurance”.
