New North Dartmouth Hours in Jan. 2010

North Dartmouth Branch

When the North Dartmouth Library opens for the first time in 2010, on Monday, January 4th, it will open at a new time. A new schedule has been adopted for the operating hours of the North Dartmouth Library. Southworth Library hours will remain unchanged. The new North Dartmouth Library schedule will be:

Monday 1 – 5
Tuesday 1 – 5
Wednesday 1 – 5
Thursday 1 – 5
Friday CLOSED
Saturday CLOSED

The Trustees have adopted this new schedule in response to patron requests for after-school hours, and a more consistent schedule. The new hours are also a response to a shrinking staff in the Dartmouth Public Libraries, and an easing of requirements from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Library Associate Joanne Sousa will be assigned to the branch during its open hours, so patrons will also have the benefit of consistent staffing at the branch. The Trustees are committed to continuing to provide service for North Dartmouth patrons during these fiscally difficult times, and hope that the new schedule and staffing will prove beneficial to library patrons.

Come “Drop In and Decorate” Cookies Dec. 15th

December 4 is National Cookie Day. Maybe not on that exact day, but sometime in the next few weeks, someone, somewhere, will decorate the 10,000th cookie for donation at a Drop In & Decorate® party. Come to Southworth Library on Dec. 15th and you might just be that person.

Come join us to Drop In & Decorate® cookies on December 15, 2009 between the hours of 6:30 and 8:00 pm. Just bring your imagination. Cookies and decorating supplies will be provided. All decorated cookies will be donated to the Dartmouth Council on Aging.

Drop In & Decorate, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Rhode Island and founded by food writer Lydia Walshin works to build bridges of caring within communities through cookies-for-donation events that benefit a nonprofit agency serving basic human needs.

The library is still recruiting bakers to make cookies and icing for decoration. Call 508-999-0726 if you would like to attend and/or bake.
