Dartmouth will hold a Special Town Meeting on Tuesday August 25th at 7:00 pm in the Dartmouth High School Auditorium. Town Meeting members will vote on whether or not to raise taxes in Dartmouth on restaurant meals and hotel stays. A warrant article to increase access to Clark’s Cove is also up for consideration.

The American Library Association and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York are partnering for a contest called Step Up to the Plate@your library. Come to the library and answer questions related to the history of baseball or take part in the contest on the Internet. Win a trip for two to the World Series gala in October 2009 at the Baseball Hall of Fame – retail value 1,000.00
