From May 11th – May 20th at Ridge Hill Reserve & at Knowles Reserve, there will be two walking paths for families, classes, etc, to venture out on and enjoy a book.

Along the path there are stakes, each with one page from a book on it, so as the walkers go they will be reading a picturebook. If you walk at Ridge Hill Reserve, you will read Olivia by Ian Falconer and if you walk the trail at Knowles Reserve, you will read Over in the Meadow by Ezra Jack Keats.

The Storywalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Pedestrian and Bicycle Coalition and the Kellog Hubbard Library. DNRT is collaborating with the Dartmouth Libraries to offer this StoryWalk.

How to get to Ridge Hill Reserve: North on Faunce Corner Rd. West on Old Fall River Rd for 2 miles. North on Collins Corner Rd, less than 1 mile on the left.

Subjects include fiction, mystery, local history, cooking, health, poetry, art, nature, children, young adult and many more. Audio books, music CDs, and movies are also available.

The Book Sales benefit the Dartmouth Public Libraries with the Friends providing museum passes, Summer Reading programs and much more.

* Play Dough Making : all ages, Tue April 17th 10AM, Registration Required

* Family Movie : all ages, Wed April 18th 2:30PM, No registration, a new ‘puppet’ movie staring a famous frog, pig & a blue guy with a big nose! We will have popcorn & refreshments; feel free to bring blankets & pillow.

* Parent & Me Yoga : ages 3-5, Fri April 20th 10:30AM, Registration required. Grandparents/guardians are more than welcome. Space is limited.

*Teen Movie – Sat. Apr 21st 2:30 p.m.

* Go Wild! Reading Program : For children who participated in the program: come in any time 9-5 to pick up your certificate & check out our secret poster puzzle.

We also will have a patron appreciation open house on Wednesday April 11th as part of National Library Week. Stop by for snacks and coffee all day long on Wednesday.

Do you have library materials that are SO overdue you have been embarrassed or afraid to bring them back? Did you think you would owe a small fortune in fines?

Here is your chance to return them fine free and clear your card!

Food for Fines does NOT apply to charges for lost or damaged library material. All food contributions will be donated to the Dartmouth Council on Aging.

Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday April 3rd in the Dartmouth Local Town Election. Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.

This year’s local town election includes a race for Town Clerk, 2 Select Board seats, Assessor, School Committee Member, 2 Library Trustee seats, Board of Health Member, Cemetery Commissioner, 2 Planning Board Members, Moderator and Board of Park Commissioner Member.

There are also 6 questions on the reverse side of the ballot concerning the Town’s charter.

Additionally, all members of  Town Meeting must run for election this year because of precinct map changes.
