Animal World Experience Tues. Aug. 31st

On Tuesday Aug. 31st (the last day before school starts for the Dartmouth Public Libraries), come to the North Dartmouth Branch to see a performance being rescheduled from July 6th.

From 1 pm to 3 pm Dartmouth Libraries present Animal World Experience. For the first hour, learn about the live exotic animals and for the second hour get to pet and touch them.

What in the world does helping animals have to do with the Summer Reading theme of going green? Actually more than you expect!!

Funding provided by the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries.

Summer Reading Program Thanks

Our summer reading party was blessed with perfect weather and we enjoyed a festive afternoon filled with pizza, the Cha Cha Slide and the Limbo, awarding of prizes and certificates along with a craft to decorate a canvas lunch tote to go green for back to school.

We want to offer a huge thank-you to Ma Raffas and Friendly Pizza for supplying food for the party at a discount. Area businesses donated wonderful prizes to offer our readers and volunteers helped out all summer long.

But the biggest thanks goes to you, all the participants taking part in the Summer Reading Program despite all the disruptions at Southworth this summer.

You were a joy to work with and we hope to see you at any rescheduled events – like Animal Adventures on August 31st from 1 to 3 pm at North Dartmouth Library or the Friday Farmer’s Market storytimes continuing until September 24th at Rex Field at 4 pm.

Summer Reading Finale Party Sat. Aug 14th

Come to the Southworth Library to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program on Saturday August 14th.

The party begins at Southworth at 12 noon and continues until 2 pm. It will take place on the Southworth Lawn and in the auditorium.

Come enjoy pizza, snacks and drinks. See if you won a prize! Get your certificate and a nice cloth book bag that says Friends of Dartmouth Libraries – Go Green at Your Library.

Music will be provided by DJ David Antunes.

Decorate a canvas lunch bag with fabric markers to take lunches to school in the Fall.
